Cinematographic cliché#1 is the first project from the series Cinematographic cliché. The series appropriates cliché scenes from Hollywood suspense movies in which women are portrayed as victims or fragile characters. Cinematographic cliché#1, was a site-specific installation for the exhibition ESAD.cr 90-10. It transfers the audio from a chase scene of a woman character taken place in a garage, to the exhibition under-construction space. The sound clip reproduces the movie scene and is synchronized with a light that illuminates the corner of the installation every 3 minutes, when the sound reaches its highest level of decibels.
