Of clouds and clocks, 2024

The sound installation and performative interpretation Of clouds and clocks after György Ligeti's "Poème symphonique for 100 metronomes" was conceived for the exhibition Unabridged at the Kunstlerhaus in Vienna that combined a series of contemporary artistic positions from Dora Deliyska, Anna Hofbauer, Kai Maier-Rothe, Phelim McConigly, Flavio Palasciano, Patricia J. Reis, Axel Stockburger, Johanna Charlotte Trede. The installation is inspired by Karl Popper's essay "Of Clouds and Clocks" and presents a constellation of several piano pieces from György Ligeti adapted and interpreted by Dora Deliyska. Patrícia J. Reis and Dora Deliyska collaborated in the re-enactment of piece "Poème symphonique for 100 metronomes" (György Ligeti) creating an analogue system that could trigger 100 metronomes approximately at the same time. The 100 metronomes installation creates a new body of sound that behaves as clocks and clouds.
